ASI’s Industry-Leading Summer Intern Program Returns for 2024

TREVOSE, PA – April 12, 2024

The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) has opened its annual summer internship program to member companies throughout the promotional products industry. The free, exclusive program, now in its ninth year, offers invaluable benefits for ASI members and students alike.

Interns hired by participating suppliers and distributors gain access to free online training, ASI’s ESP® and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. Intern start dates range from mid-May to mid-June. Since its inception in 2016, ASI has trained and mentored 1,899 interns at nearly 1,500 member companies.

“Interns play a pivotal role in introducing the next generation to the dynamic world of promotional products,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI, the leading technology, marketing and information provider in the $26.1 billion promo industry. “Giving interns a firsthand experience with promo’s creativity and impact might ignite a passion for our industry and our products among future decision-makers and marketers.”

Companies can sign up interns whether they work at home, in the office or at factories. Even member companies already employing interns can leverage the resources ASI’s free program offers by signing up at ASI’s internship website, internprogramasi.com. In addition, ASI’s internship website includes resource materials to assist members in finding interns.

“We focus on making it simple for our members, providing full support and valuable training at every stage,” said Liz Chrostowski, product marketing manager, who oversees the intern program. “Our goal is to prepare interns with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the promo industry smoothly.”

Further, Chrostowski helps interns bond, interact and learn together remotely through social media and numerous digital webinars.

Last summer, 80% of surveyed interns who worked at supplier and distributor companies around the U.S. and Canada rated their overall experience as excellent or very good.

ASI supplies participating interns with:

  • Free ESP access (distributor interns)/ESP Updates (supplier interns) for the summer (license expires October 1)
  • Education webinar series and industry overview
  • Intern portal with program resources and job aids
  • Internship completion certificate
  • Invitation to ASI’s Chicago trade show July 23-25

Plus, ASI will award a deserving intern who takes part in the program a $1,000 scholarship. To date, ASI has awarded $13,000 in scholarships to participating interns.
