ASI Magazines Win Four More National Awards For Editorial Excellence

Publications also score 9 regional awards in B-to-B’s largest and most competitive editorial contest

TREVOSE, PA – May 29, 2019 – The Advertising Specialty Institute® today announced that ASI magazines won four more national Azbee Awards of Excellence and nine regional awards in one of the nation’s largest and most competitive editorial contests.

Among the honors, Wearables® magazine was awarded a national Gold award for Overall Excellence and named a Top 10 Magazine of the Year. Wearables, the promotional products industry’s go-to source for imprinted apparel information, is edited by C.J. Mittica (@CJ_Advantages)‏.

The awards recognized ASI’s editorial expertise across a variety of categories in both print and digital, including investigative reporting on Chinese tariffs and trade wars, the Counselor Power 50, feature stories, how-to articles and fashion design.

The multiple wins come on the heels of Counselor® magazine being honored with three prestigious Jesse H. Neal national journalism awards for editorial excellence, including wins for a masterful range of work by a single author, a profile of its Person of the Year and its annual State of the Industry package.

The ASBPE’s Azbee Awards in Overall Excellence, Online, Design, Print and All Content divisions were presented as part of its 41st annual Azbee Awards of Excellence banquet, held in conjunction with GenerationB2B, ASBPE’s 2019 National Conference at The Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, FL. ASBPE represents more than 2,000 journalists for B2B publications.

  • Counselor®, Silver, Online, for Counselor staff: Single topic coverage by a team, for “The Impact of Tariffs on the Promo Industry.”

  • Wearables, Bronze, Design, for Art Director Hillary Glen and Photographer Ryan Geraghty: Feature article design for “Faces of Fashion.”

This year, more than 1,100 entries were received and 89 experienced B2B editors and designers judged the 68 categories of entries. ASI publications competed alongside magazines like American Banker, Architect and Computer World.
