ASI® Announces Counselor Power 50 for 2007

TREVOSE, PA – November 13, 2007  Advertising Specialty Institute®, the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, announced today its second annual Counselor® Power 50 ranking to recognize the industry’s most influential leaders.

The Counselor Power 50 reflects an impressive group of principals at innovative and successful industry companies, who set the tone for the marketplace today and whom other distributors and suppliers emulate in their leadership practices and business operations.

The 2007 ranking includes 12 individuals new to the list, determined by a panel of editorial experts at Counselor magazine, “the voice of the industry.”  To compile the list, the panel first sent a survey to industry members, asking them to nominate potential newcomers to the list and to also indicate whether those on last year’s list should move up or down or be removed.  The panel also carefully weighed other factors, such as nominees’ achievements throughout the year and the health of their companies.

“The first Counselor Power 50 ranking was extremely well-received last year and readers requested we continue to compile it every year,” said Rich Fairfield, publisher for ASI.  “The ranking recognizes the 50 most powerful people in the advertising specialty industry.”

“This year’s group was announced at the inaugural ASI Power Summit,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.  “The exclusive event was attended by nearly 200 executives and business leaders from around the world who discuss timely and provocative ideas to make business better, determine solutions for industry problems and share their best practices to move the marketplace forward – and provides an appropriate atmosphere to announce the Counselor Power 50.”

The complete Counselor Power 50 ranking is at www.uat-asicentral.com/power50.  Distributors and suppliers can learn more about the successes, lessons learned and current initiatives at each of the companies, and ways in which they can apply them to their own businesses in the upcoming issue of Counselor magazine.

Nominees for the list can be ASI members or non-members and nominations can be made by a representative working at any promotional products company in North America.
