ASI Dallas Generates Texas-Sized Industry Value

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone blows away a captive crowd

TREVOSE, PAFebruary 3, 2012 The ASI Show delivered another high-energy event this week, with ASI Dallas growing to 1,556 distributor companies – a new all-time record.

In addition to busy education sessions and an expanded show floor, the three-day event featured an entrepreneur’s vision of the ad specialty products market by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, who shared humorous comparisons between Twitter’s beginnings and the networking relationships that are built between the suppliers and distributors within the industry.

The Dallas show, held at the Dallas Convention Center from Wednesday, February 1, through Friday, February 3, is the largest industry event in the Southwest, featuring thousands of new products and services.

“This show is tremendous,” said Missy Herring, from South Texas Custom Printing, asi/529109. “ASI Dallas is the place to say ‘hello’ to your existing vendors while building new relationships. I’m expanding into the paper products part of the industry, and I came looking for new suppliers, which I found. I recommend ASI Dallas to everyone.”

Education participation was strong, with 837 distributors attending classes Wednesday, including “The Industry’s Biggest Speed Networking Session.” All sessions were eligible for credits toward BASI (Bachelor of Advertising Specialty Information) and MASI (Master of Advertising Specialty Information) certification. To date, over 15,000 industry professionals have registered for classes necessary to obtain the industry certification.

“The in-depth education and special events continue to elevate both the quality and quantity of the distributors at the event,” said Lorenz Hassenstein, vice president and general manager of The ASI Show. “Suppliers are generating proposals for orders right from the show and, while attendance numbers are on the rise, the real story is that new relationships are being forged.”

Dallas is home to the second-largest number of distributors in the U.S. Of the 510 suppliers who participated, 125 were new to ASI Dallas. Partnering suppliers with distributors helps promote success within the industry and is the primary goal of ASI.

“ASI Dallas has been just great for us – amazing traffic and a great quality of attendees,” said Sergio Munoz from Debco, asi/48885. “Distributors are asking questions and coming prepared with projects they need help with. We’ve been getting great leads, and it’s been a very productive show.”

It’s been a really good show,” added Max Castilleja from Staton Corporate and Casual, asi/89380. “We’ve been busy meeting many of our local clients, as well as a number of quality leads. We’ve even gotten a few orders pending.”

“At ASI and ASI Show, we’re charging ahead into 2012, buoyed by positive numbers, high-quality education and business advice from one of the most successful entrepreneurs on the planet. Put it all together, and ASI Dallas joined ASI Orlando as an undisputed hit,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president of The ASI Show and president and chief executive officer of ASI. “Everyone enjoyed superior networking opportunities along with a bustling show floor and plenty of cool new products to invigorate any marketing and advertising campaign.”

David Woods from AIA Corporation, asi/109480, added, “ASI Dallas is a great show. We have a number of reps here. People are feeling good about the economy and morale is very high. Having access to so many products right here on the show floor is key to preparing for a strong sales season.”

“The team has really enjoyed and benefited from seeing all the great new products and services debuting for 2012,” said Dave Regan from Vernon, asi/351700. “We have about 30-35 reps here in Dallas, and they are really excited to be part of the show.”
