ASI’s Award-Winning Stitches Magazine Unveils New Design

Fresh look and new content showcase reader interactions and creativity

TREVOSE, PA – April 18, 2013 – The award-winning Stitches® magazine published by the Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) now features a fresh design and new content that showcases reader interaction and creativity.

Stitches, the ultimate resource for the embroidery industry, gathered valuable feedback from members of its magazine advisory board before designing a cleaner, more sophisticated book for its April issue that places a renewed emphasis on reader contributions.

Stitches readers have always had a strong voice within the magazine, and now we’ve made that voice even more robust by tapping the social media zeitgeist to showcase their online conversations and incredibly cool designs,” said editor Nicole Rollender.

Along with the latest news, looks and decorating solutions, Stitches now offers a sleeker, more modern look that mirrors the consumer magazine experience, color-coded sections to make reading even easier and more creative contributions from subscribers, including detailed, high-resolution embroidery designs and fashion and fantastical pieces.

New upfront sections include:

  • Interact, which features reader connections, content from Stitches.com (including poll results and blog excerpts), interactions from the magazine’s Twitter and Facebook feeds, reader letters, reader designs from Stitches’ Pinterest page, expert advice from the magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board, and more.
  • News, a decorator-centric section that contains industry and world news related to the decorator and decorated-apparel world, along with strategy/case study examples of how shops succeed.

In addition, the magazine updated its LookBook section with an apparel and accessories showcase, a “niche” page to feature reader designs and an “inspiration” page to show off the best embroidery designs, textile art, etc. Stitches also added pizzazz to its “Decorating Solutions” section with decorating and fabric trends and machine and software updates.
