ASI Announces Winners of 2013 Counselor Distributor Choice Awards

The Magnet Group named Supplier of the Year

TREVOSE, PA – January 7, 2013 – The Advertising Specialty Institute®(ASI)
honored 270 of the industry’s top-performing suppliers on Sunday at the annual Counselor Distributor Choice Awards.

The Magnet Group, the world’s largest magnet manufacturer, was selected as the 2013 Supplier of the Year, securing the industry’s most-valued supplier status across 59 categories. Bill Korowitz is CEO of The Magnet Group (asi/68507).

“This year’s Counselor Supplier of the Year enjoys complete dominance in its product category, a perennial presence on the list of Distributor Choice Winners, a near-perfect rating in ESP® – and legions of loyal distributor customers,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “The Magnet Group is recognized as much for its creativity and new product development as it is for having one of the most dynamic management teams in the business. It’s no wonder distributors rate Magnet as the very best.”

The premier awards ceremony took place during ASI Orlando, which ends today at the Orange County Convention Center.

Distributors across North America choose which companies to honor by voting for their most-valued ad specialty suppliers. Winners are selected based upon real votes and data from ASI’s Supplier Performance Ratings. All told, 270 finalists qualified this year in 59 product categories, including three new categories of blankets, coolers and hospitality items.

Among the suppliers winning in more than a single category were SanMar (asi/84863), Showdown Displays (asi/87188), Sweda Co (asi/90305), iClick (asi/62124), Leed’s (asi/66887), Towel Specialties (asi/91605), Starline USA (asi/89320), Gold Bond (asi/57653), DIGISPEC (asi/49716) and Evans Manufacturing (asi/52840).

To be considered a Counselor Distributor Choice Awards finalist, an ASI supplier must have an overall performance rating of four stars or higher, been rated by at least 40 distributor firms, have reports on at least 100 transactions, and been nominated in a category that represents 10% or more of their product line.
