Annual Event Moves to Florida
TREVOSE, PA – November 18, 2009 – Advertising Specialty Institute® today announced that the fourth annual ASI Power Summit will be held at the Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Florida.
The three-day event, the premier gathering for industry executives and influential business leaders, will take place Sunday, November 7, through Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at the 300-acre Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club, conveniently located near three airports, including Miami International.
“The Power Summit is the destination for leading industry executives to come together to form new ideas, advance the agenda for the good of the industry, and discuss and respond to critical issues confronting us all,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.
The most recent ASI Power Summit, held in Carlsbad, California earlier this month, received rave reviews for its networking and educational sessions.
One of the most popular new offerings was a speed networking session, where industry members sat across from one another at cocktail tables and answered thought-provoking questions printed on a card; once a bell rang, they moved on to meet another attendee. “We covered all sorts of topics, ranging from where we thought the industry would be in five years to what surprising skills each of us had,” said Todd Singleton, president and CEO of The Singleton Company Inc. (asi/328000). “The cards were so edgy that I grabbed a set and will adapt the exercise for my client’s next big event. Kudos to ASI for putting on such a clever session to break the ice.”
Another crowd favorite that will be repeated at next year’s event were two breakout sessions, which allowed distributors and suppliers to work together to come up with solutions to their most pressing challenges. “I had some really great dialogue with my colleagues on how to take a stance on product safety and compliance and the Physician Payments Sunshine Act,” said Bonni Shevin-Sandy, executive vice president of Counselor® Top 40 supplier Dard (asi/48500). “The Power Summit is, by far, my favorite industry event of the year.”
The Counselor Power 50 rankings, identifying the top movers-and-shakers in the advertising specialty industry, are also announced during the event.
