Registration Open for Inaugural ASI Power Summit in Canada

June 12-14 at the legendary Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

TREVOSE, PA – March 13, 2013 – The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) today announced registration is open for the inaugural ASI Canada Power Summit this June at the legendary Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

ASI’s very first Canadian Power Summit takes place Wednesday, June 12, through Friday, June 14, at the resort known as “the castle in the Rockies.”

“This is a prime opportunity to join the most influential leaders in Canada’s promotional products industry at what promises to be an incredible three days of networking, brainstorming and strategizing at one of the premier destinations in North America,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.

Fred Oesen of ASI Canada said, “We’re incredibly excited to host the very first Power Summit in Canada, an event specifically designed to help anyone doing business or considering doing business here with the best available advice and strategies.”

At the summit, ASI will present a full slate of hot topics, including sessions on:

  • Using mobile marketing to drive sales
  • Selling to the U.S. market and to oil, gas and financial industries
  • Raising capital and attracting investors
  • Secrets from the fastest-growing Canadian companies

Dr. Jack Mintz, a world-renowned fiscal and tax policy specialist and chair of the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary, is the featured keynote speaker. Mintz will discuss the current climate for small businesses in Canada.

Afternoon recreational activities abound, including golf and wine tasting and numerous chances to explore the 125-year-old resort, which is surrounded by pristine wilderness in the heart of Banff National Park, 2,564 square miles of valleys, mountains, glaciers, forests, meadows, rivers and wildlife.

In addition, ASI will present an exclusive look at its first-ever Counselor® Canadian State of the Industry report, providing key strategies to move any business forward.

According to the 2012 Counselor® State of the Industry report, more than 60% of Canadian distributors increased sales and 56% boosted profits in 2011, easily besting the average year-over-year changes of U.S.-based industry firms. And when asked how they’d rate the health of the industry, Canadian distributors returned the highest marks of any geographic region surveyed by ASI over the past three years.
